Amino Acids
ADM helps supply the livestock and aquaculture industries with premium amino acids that are environmentally sound yet economical. Our feed-grade amino acids – the building blocks of protein for all animal species – play a significant role in the diet of the animals.
ADM’s L-Lysine HCland L-Threonine are all composed of 100 percent isomerically pure L-amino acids, which translates into maximal percent bioavailability for livestock. By reducing waste and nitrogen excretions, these products can also help reduce environmental impacts.
The benefits of balancing the amino acid profile of each animal species is well documented, and ADM has reacted by sourcing other essential amino acids so that the animal’s nutritional potential can be maximised. These include L-Tryptophan, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, L-Arginine & L-Glutamine. CitriStim
CitriStim® may help the animal in its defence against health challenges. CitriStim®, an ADM-patented yeast known as Pichia guilliermondii, adheres to pathogens and modulates immune activity. The overall result is production benefits and an animal that does not easily succumb to daily health challenges. CitriStim® is the perfect addition to the diets of all animal species, with its benefits most pronounced when:
- the animal is in a high-stress situation (group mixing, transport, weaning, transition, etc.);
- there is a known performance problem (resulting either from stress or disease); or
- an alternative to antibiotics is sought after.
Natural-Source Vitamin E
Natural-source vitamin E (RRR-alpha-tocopherol; D-alpha-tocopherol) is preferentially retained by body tissues in all animal species. When compared to synthetic vitamin E (all rac-alpha-tocopherol; DL-alpha-tocopherol), natural-source vitamin E is retained better and for longer time in the body, making it more bioavailable. RRR-alpha-tocopherol is an integral component of immune function, and many biological and metabolic processes will only utilise this natural form of vitamin E.
ADM is the largest producer of natural-source vitamin E, and as it is produced from oilseeds (and not petrochemicals like synthetic vitamin E), it is the sustainable and environmentally-friendly choice.
